Cakes of the Month: “A Wee Heavy”

A beer inspired Chocolate Cake from our favourite brewery - Aegir Project - and JUST in time for Father’s Day.

Aegir micro brewery in Noordhoek is hands down our favourite spot for a family meal. Inspired by their ever changing list of delicious and original beer flavours - we decided to pair their “Wee Heavy” ~ a Scottish style 90 shilling ~ with our classic Dark Cocoa Sponge Cake

The result - a killer dark sponge with a hints of bitter and treacle, generously layered with a toasted vanilla and salt marshmallow icing. 

A cake which will leave Dad feel truly considered. But also a winner for beer and cake lovers.

This cake is available in one size to order and will be on the counter at Aegir and Max Bagels, Park Road for this weekend.

Cake Care

Cakes are best stored in the fridge and travel best from there however do serve at room temperature. 

Shelf Life 

A full five days if stored boxed and wrapped in the fridge.
