Cake of the Month: Apple, Olive Oil & Ancient Grains Cake

A wholesome cake is probably my favourite style of cake.

Ideal for the cooler weather our Apple Cake is heart warming cake - healthy enough for late breakfast but still pitch perfect for dessert.

Baked with lightly caramelised chunks of apples, golden olive oil from the Klein Karoo and baked with spelt crumble top. The rustic cake layers are sandwiched together with a maple syrup cream cheese icing which will have you going back for seconds.

This cake is moist from the EVOO and apples and full in flavour from the ancient grains, vanilla, lemon and cinnamon.

This cake is available in one size:
Layered 18cm cake (serves 8 - 10 people)

Cake Care

Cakes are best stored in the fridge and travel best from there however do serve at room temperature. Cakes travel best from the fridge and should be placed on a flat surface such as the boot.

Shelf Life 

A full five days if stored boxed and wrapped in the fridge.
