Simnel Cake + Johannes Cake Stand

As per tradition, I bake Simnel Cakes every Easter - baked with carefully selected ingredients. Made with my own candied lemon and orange peel, glacéd cherries, sultanas and currants and my own spice mix. The marzipan is made with ground almonds from DV Farm in Paarl. This is layered inside the cake when baked, as well as afterwards on top of the cake. Finally 11 balls are placed on top of the cake to symbolise the 11 disciples.

As the 11 marzipan balls is symbolic of the loyal disciples of Jesus, we felt it only fitting to name each after five of the twelve disciples.

The stands are sold with a Mondvol Soet 15cm Simnel Cake and can be couriered nationwide.
